Fragile

This item works great, but one piece ceramic legs are VERY easy to break,an expensive lesson I learned after only about the forth use.I bought an alternative product made by Ceramic Grill Store,and they actually have 3 different alternatives,each of them adding even more versatility. Worth checking out.

Plate Setter

Great product, I have a Gourmet Pots Kamodo style grill and this fits it perfectly. The day after I got it, I smoked baby back ribs for 5 hours and the meat fell off the bone.

With a ceramic deflector in your Green Egg or other brand of smoker you can cook meats with indirect heat and all the smoke you want to generate. Meat comes out moist and smoked to perfection

Product Description

Big Green Egg's Plate Setter is a flat ceramic disc with three legs that prevents direct heat or flair up on the cooking surface. The Plate Setter is designed to leave enough room around the sides to allow for adequate air flow around the cooking surface. Big Green Egg's Plate Setter can be used with the feet standing up or down. Set the feet down to provide a flat surface to lay a pizza or cooking stone to cook pizzas or cookies on! Turn the legs upright to set up an optimal convection oven style cook. Simply place the roast directly on top of the plate setter, or lay in a rib rack, sittin' chicken, vertical chicken or turkey stand for indirect slow cooking of meat or poultry. If you are using the vertical turkey stand you may need to remove the fire ring and set everything else down lower in the grill to make enough room for the turkey. The plate setter is one of the best and most widely used accessories that the Big Green Egg offers. Since indirect cooking is the best way to keep food flavor and juices in tack, Green Egg recommends that the plate setter be one of the first accessories purchased for your grill.
